In the entrepreneurial world, having a good morning routine can make or break your day, and to me, living with chronic pain, is kinda like business. And you need a business strategy. You either set yourself up for success or failure. And let's face it, there's no one else that can do the work for me, so I like to put in the time to support my body to the best of my ability. Therefore I've put together a list of 3 easy Holistic things you can add to your morning routine to support your body, and pain, even better. Give yourself the time to set yourself up for a successful day.
Brush your teeth
I used to think people were weird if they brushed their teeth before breakfast, because, how disgusting would the orange juice taste? But seeing that a lot of bacteria is gathered in the mouth, and more specifically on the tongue, I made it a habit after diving deeper into Ayurvedic medicine. According to Ayurveda, if you start drinking water first thing when you wake up you are flushing all that built-up bacteria in your mouth back INTO your body, when it actually needs to leave the body. Brushing my teeth before putting anything in my body has now become a habit that I can't imagine not doing. And we'll talk more about oil-pulling another time 😉
2. Drink water
Dehydration and you pelvic floor, they go hand in hand. My pelvic floor is one of the first things that lets me know if I am dehydrated. Not only is staying hydrated important for your bladder and bowel health, but dehydration can also affect your fascia. We want the fascia to be gliding smoothly in the body, so one of the things you can do to support it is to drink water! Note though, drink water mindfully throughout your day and not just pound back 2 litres in the morning. But make it a habit of consuming water first thing when you wake up, and you'll notice a huge difference!
3. Pelvic floor breathing
I cannot remind you enough of how much connecting with your pelvic floor in the morning can help with your pelvic pain, or any pain! Proper breathing should be taught to everyone to optimize their well-being. Pelvic floor breathing is the foundation for every Pelvic Health Yoga class, and if you want to live with less pain - then start paying attention to your breathing! Take 2-5 minutes lying on your bed breathing into your pelvic bowl. If this is a new concept to you, check out this IGTV to learn more. 2-5 minutes, who ain't got time for that?!
Now you know 3 SUPER EASY ways to start your mornings that you can start doing tomorrow, did you find this helpful?

Until next time,
